INGREDIENTS

  • 300g Dates
  • 100g Walnuts
  • 225g Self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Egg
  • 225 ml Hot Water
  • 1 Tea bag

RECIPE METHOD

  • Pour the hot water over the stoned chopped dates and tea bag, allow to soak for 5 minutes, remove tea bag
  • Add the beaten egg, chopped walnuts and cinnamon, stir
  • Add in the flour and combine thoroughly
  • Scrape into a lined loaf tin and bake for 1 hour at gas mark 5 (190c/375F)

Have to say this is the best loaf iv ever made. Love it. The only thing I changed was used currants. Wow. Just named it and live it.
