  • 6 Apples
  • 3 Tablespoons Oats
  • 2 Tablespoons Raisins
  • Small Handful Walnuts
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 50g Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Raw, Unprocessed Honey


  • Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the oats, raisins and walnuts
  • Add the cinnamon and nutmeg
  • In a separate bowl, melt half of the butter (25g) and pour this over the mixture. Add the vanilla extract and stir to combine
  • In another bowl, heat the raw honey until just melted. Don't overheat
  • Pour this into the mixture, stir and place to one side
  • Use a small, sharp knife to cut out the core of the apples but leave the bottoms intact. Use a teaspoon to scoop out the pips and hard parts
  • Place the apples into a baking tray, crockpot or casserole dish
  • Melt together the rest of the honey and butter and pour this over the top of the apples, rolling them around to make sure they are well covered, then stand them upright
  • Share the oat mixture evenly between them, pressing it thickly and generously into the hollow apple cores
  • Place the apples in the oven until soft, either baking them openly or with a crockpot lid on, depending on how soft you like the apples.
  • Serve warm, maybe with our sugar free vanilla ice cream
